Join us for a discussion on fine-tuning your strategic communications approach and an in-depth look into the various tools you can use to reach your target audiences.

Time is of the essence when dealing with emergency situations, especially when a life is at risk. Emergency responders need to understand how automated vehicle (AV) technologies work and how to handle various types of emergency situations involving an active AV. The Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA), in partnership with the Emergency Responder Safety Institute (ERSI) and Waymo, is offering a free training program on automated vehicle technology for emergency responders – law enforcement, firefighters, EMS providers, tow truck operators and others. The goal of this program is to provide a basic understanding of AVs and their operation, and to provide guidance on how to interact with an AV involved in an emergency situation. This program will also provide a list of various resources related to the subject that responders can utilize to further their training and preparation for dealing with AVs now and in the future
